Mortal Madness - by Sandy L. Crowther CVA
Enlightened people do the
enlightened thing…They deal with the provocations in life by concentrating,
undisturbed, on their own work. They leave others alone and do not waste their
time challenging the
Now me, being a Pisces rising and
the owner of a chart invested with 5 (potential) planetary troublemakers, I still have the tendency to gravitate toward
the “self-medicating” approach of dealing with life’s little provocations. So since my
chart has me dealing with 5 inimical choices, versus only 4 auspicious choices,
sometimes it’s just easier to let the side with the most weight win the battle.
So here is my formula for dealing with any malfunctioning manic mayhem that
occurs from time to time in life, and my choice for
micro-managing my malefics:
Make myself a
latte (either french vanilla or hazelnut)
Get out the
jar of Jelly Belly’s (gourmet jelly beans) and attack with a vengeance, while
selectively picking out the juicy pear, toasted marshmallow, and buttered
popcorn flavors.
Malfunction big time for the next 24 hours, while simultaneously exhibiting maniacal behavior towards my spouse for even innocently and accidentally digesting a juicy pear jelly belly and then making a comment about how he likes the tutti-fruitti flavor the best.
So astrologically – here is my
take on my lifelong challenges with Venus:
Venus is a functional malefic in
my chart. Venus likes to feel good, likes pleasure, luxury, gourmet items, and
particularly loves and is very attached to sugar, but anyone with half a brain
knows that excessive sugar is poison. The 2nd house rules food and
Mars lords my 2nd. Mars is a functional benefic, but rendered
powerless to help me out because he is weak and badly placed in the 6th
house of struggles, associated with natural food lord, Moon, and disposited by
my debilitated Sun - who gives no soul help to me when it comes to sugar because
he is disposited by the sweet little troublemaker, Venus. So although the Sun is
weak and uncomfortable, he acquiesces to the rules of the lord and master’s
house, Venus, (because he’s too old to argue about it - Sun in old age) and goes
ahead and eats what he is served.
Sugar.
Now Venus knows better. She is
disposited by the master of knowledge, high ideals, and wisdom, Jupiter – but
because she is a chart functional malefic, she just won’t listen to good sound
advice. She wants the final say and power – so she has nicely positioned herself
in the 10th to assure herself of that position and final say. So when
Mercury (who is malefically combust) starts putting ideas into the Sun’s head
about going after the sugar to self-medicate, the denigration of strength fully
begins, and a full blown sugar coma is induced.
This is especially difficult to
deal with at those times when the transiting Moon is aspecting Venus, transit
Venus is conjunct the EBM (equal bhava madhya - midpoint) of the 1st,
and transiting Mars is conjunct it’s dispositor and current bhukti lord, Sun.
Then there’s the divisional charts – but I won’t go there today.
So please bear with me – If I seem
a little on edge on certain days, feel free to ask about my sugar intake. I may
not answer or I may jump down your throat – but remember its all in the spirit
of dealing with life’s sweet little pleasures – Venus.
