Grand Trine:
7
House of Leader
3
House of Fame
4
House of Wealth
5
House of Kingly Position
2
House of Extremity
1
House of Impermanence
6
House of Sickly
The Grand
Trine is composed of planets in Leader, Extremity, and Sickly...go
ahead and draw it right through there, like a triangle. The charts whose
trines run smoothly and harmoniously are the charts that have their energies
compatible with each other. How do we find that out? We look back at the
Table of Planetary Relationships to determine if they are friendly or
hostile energies. Enemies and Hostile Elements will oppose each other and
cause tension. So in our previous example chart, the chart where we have Sun
in Leader, Saturn in Extremity, and Jupiter in Sickly, that Grand Trine
doesn't present difficulty, because Sun and Jupiter are Friends, And Sun and
Saturn are Positive Elements.
The Minor Trine:
7
House of Leader
3
House of Fame
4
House of Wealth
5
House of Kingly Position
2
House of Extremity
1
House of Impermanence
6
House of Sickly
The
Minor Trine operates from the center House of Wealth, connecting
Extremity on one side, and Sickly on the other. In some charts, this may be
a better help in elevating the planetary energies in Extremity and Sickly
when the Grand Trine is less than perfect.
The Square:
7
House of Leader
3
House of Fame
4
House of Wealth
5
House of Kingly Position
2
House of Extremity
1
House of Impermanence
6
House of Sickly
The
Square is important when the client has Enemies or Negative Elements
that block the Trines. the Square consist of Houses 2, 3, 7, 5, and 6. Say a
chart has Mars in 2, Sun in 6, and Mercury in 7. Draw it out and you will
see the problem. (Sun and Mars are Permanent Enemies, Sun and Mercury are
Negative Elements). Now here come Venus (in the 3rd) and Jupiter (in the
5th) to alleviate the apparent hostilities within the chart. Why? Because
Venus and Mars are Friends, as are Jupiter and the Sun. So often times, the
square can come to the rescue.
