Badhaka Houses: 1. The badhaka houses are houses that are harmful to life, and badhaka houses are more harmful for life than maraka houses. The badhaka houses are the 11th for those born in Cardinal (moveable) signs, the 9th for those born in Fixed signs, and the 7th for those born in Mutable (dual) signs. 2. For death, first consider the badhaka houses, and then the maraka houses as dangerous for the native, as there is danger to life during the joint period (dasha/bhukti) of the significators of the badhaka and maraka houses.
